Business Management and Acquisition Summer Intern Program

The National Security Agency's (NSA) Business Management & Acquisition (BM&A) Summer Intern Program offers the opportunity for training and experience within a multi-faceted business discipline. The BM&A Summer Internship offers full-time paid internships for undergraduate and master's degree students each year. It is a 12-week program that gives rising college seniors or graduate level students the opportunity to build knowledge and skills in the business field.

NSA summer interns will work directly with top-notch BM&A business professionals on any one of the following projects/requirements that ultimately impact Agency decisions and operations: negotiating multimillion dollar contracts; developing the Agency's annual budget; acquiring products and services from industry partners; developing negotiation positions; providing financial support for major acquisition programs; working with other intelligence agencies and Department of Defense organizations to develop various support agreements.

Civil Liberties and Privacy Summer Intern Program

The NSA Civil Liberties and Privacy (CLP) Summer Intern Program offers a rising college senior exposure to a variety of cryptologic disciplines and civil liberties and privacy processes. The intensive 12-week program runs from mid-May through mid-August for select undergraduates entering the final year of an undergraduate degree program.

This program permits summer interns to actively participate in or support on-going CLP activities under the guidance of NSA professionals responsible for the following activities: identifying and documenting existing Agency CLP activities; identifying and making recommendations regarding improvements to existing gaps in CLP protections; identifying topics for and providing input to external reports on activities; creating written and briefing material suitable for both internal executive-level as well as public audiences; establishing or coordinating mechanisms to ensure NSA complies with appropriate Department of Defense and Intelligence Community regulations and standards to ensure that protection of civil liberties and privacy is incorporated into NSA policies and procedures; and managing or preparing, as appropriate, mandatory and ad-hoc internal and external reports.

Consortium Research Fellows Program

The Consortium Research Fellows Program (CRFP) is a partnership between the Consortium of Universities of the Washington Metropolitan Area and several Department of Defense agencies. The CRFP fosters a strong relationship between the higher education community and DoD. Students work in Defense settings, become more knowledgeable about research and development, and increase the country's pool of scientific talent. Professors lend their specialized expertise to DoD projects and widen the scope of their research. Government researchers accomplish their goals more efficiently and develop new areas of inquiry. Transfer of technology accelerates. When the higher education and Federal research communities cooperate, everyone benefits. Open to undergraduates, graduates and post docs.

Cryptanalysis and Signals Analysis Summer Program

The Cryptanalysis and Signals Analysis Summer Program (CASASP) gives undergraduate mathematicians and computer scientists a chance to contribute to mission-essential technical operations at the National Security Agency (NSA). Our mission is to transform collected data into a format analysts can readily consume for intelligence purposes by analyzing signals and protocols, and overcoming security measures. Each summer we invite twelve students to learn, use, and further NSA’s tradecraft as they work on operational problems of national importance. If you possess imagination, initiative and intellectual curiosity, apply for the CASASP.
